The Dubai Metro Map for 2021 is now available as a PDF!
Have you ever found yourself riding the Dubai Metro and wondering where exactly all the stations are located? If so, you’re in luck because the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has released an updated map of the Dubai Metro system that features stations that are expected to be built by 2021. These new stations will allow commuters to travel between different parts of the city in less time than they did before. These new lines will also be beneficial to businesses, who will now have more opportunities to expand as people move closer to them, as well as residents, who will now have access to more places within their city. The new design
The city of Dubai has just announced that it will be changing its metro map design in 2021. As of yet, we don’t know exactly what changes are going to be made to it, but information about them should become public knowledge later in 2019. I thought I’d just go ahead and create a new post listing everything we know so far about it!
New locations and routes
So how has Dubai changed since 2016? A few new locations have been added, while some existing locations have been scrapped. The first two stations that open in 2021 are indeed located in close proximity to each other: one on Sheikh Zayed Road near Mall of Emirates and another at Ibn Battuta Mall. In 2023, we will see Al Khail opening up followed by Rashidiya; both of these stations are located on the Red Line.
What are the benefits?
This new map makes it easier to plan your trips by allowing you to see where each station is located and if there are transfers between stations. You’ll also be able to quickly see which direction each line runs in and whether or not it requires an interchange with another line. The map also makes it clear which stations are above ground, which ones are underground, and where transfer stations lie—very useful information indeed.

Metro Pass VS Freedom Pass
You might have heard about both Metro Pass and Freedom Pass from your friends. But which one should you use? Here are some of their differences 1) A Freedom Pass gives you unlimited access to all metro stations, while a Metro pass only gives you access to 2 stations (one each way). This means that if you don’t live in Burj Khalifa or Marina metro station areas, then it’s better to get a freedom pass. If not, get yourself a metro pass because it’s cheaper than freedom pass.
No tram updates
The DMRC have released a new metro map showing all current and future routes of lines, including extensions. The first line on which extension plans are included is Red Line's extension from its current terminus at Nakheel Harbour & Tower Station to Deira City Centre, with another station at Gold Souq. Trains will run at six-minute intervals. The new section of track connecting Nakheel Harbour & Tower to Deira City Centre will come up between Al Ruwayya and Mirdif stations.
