I am really glad we were able to Madden 21
Why are you treating a business such as how a parent speaks about Madden 21 coins a child? I genuinely don't know why it's our obligation to baby businesses into getting empathy. Why is it that they need to"know" to do good for humanity, why can't they just do it? It's the same as white folks putting the duty on black people to teach them to not be racist when there's plenty of resources out there on how to perform it. With that said, I do want to say that I apologize if any of my comment comes off as hostile or attacking to you. I value this discussion a lot even when I think at the end of this we will still disagree. I hope that I'm not creating a strawman out of your argument once I say you see hardly any value in making a statement with nothing to back it up.
I really don't think EA has any moral imperative to do anything else at all in this circumstance, at least not publicly. Should they have any employees affected by the protests or riots or even police/military activities they have a moral imperative to do what they can to accommodate them, that is about it. They are not the cause of the issue, it would be easy and appropriate for them to stay quiet or skirt around this political issue, but they didn't.
They had three options: say nothing, say something, or say something and make a stunning gesture. Anything over the bare minimum is well worth acknowledging in my eyes. I really don't see it as"babying" them to admit a firm statement that I concur with. I believe we agree about more things than we disagree about. And while we're being antagonistic in such Reddit comments because that's the prevailing tone of the place, I don't believe anything you have said has come across as disrespectful at all and I hope you feel the same about the things I've said.
I am really glad we were able to have the discussion we did and that we're seeing businesses place their money where their mouth is. The weekend was tough in my psychological health and outlook on what is gonna get done and that probably reached into my comments, and that can still change as the days come and go. But today seeing protests get even bigger and more peaceful than before and visiting companies really do shit, it gets me a bit more optimistic. I expect we see real change. Thank you to get a discussion that at the very least gave me a fresh outlook. I don't need companies saying something. Actually I'm fed up with companies saying things. Create your merchandise. Make it good. Then shut up and let actual people speak. Nobody needs corporations to talk for them.
Because it is absurd bullshit meant to placate dumb white people that can easily be vulnerable to this kind of marketing tactic. This marketing strategy where businesses express commitments to fight injustice while avoiding specifics regarding what precisely is wrong, what needs to change, and what they are going to buy Mut 21 coins do about it.
