I 100% believe this was true in Hearthstone.
Both Vanilla and TBC classic are outside, able to experience as it was. And. . Even if it's almost indistinguishable. . And I would say I enjoy the classic variations a whole lot WOW TBC Classic Gold less than retail today. It is a lot slower and simpler. It's more clunky. Rewards thing a great deal less since the PvE experiences are balanced around somebody with performance issues and also a lot worse awareness and ability of the match.
Really is not that the games have become worse, it's the player mindset which have changed. Coupled with a slew of tools for knowledge and learning. Individuals trying to take shortcuts instead of learning, leading them to feel like it is a grind when they can't just jump into the rewards. People today consume content a lot quicker and use a lot of crutches to do it. They skip most of the exploring and trial and error parts, which is exactly what they remember most lovingly in the old games, in favor of optimisation and min/max from the get go. A whole lot of optimization isn't even about doing things , but removing things together. Which also leads to people whining that they"feel pressured" doing things as they are so utilized to being able to skip it.
I 100% believe this was true in Hearthstone. I have not played in a long time but back when they started incorporating cards there would be some brand new broken strategy everyone had to play and Blizzard sat around for months saying everything was fine prior to waiting to release some half-assed counter in the next expansion. When it failed they finally delivered a balance patch to repair the initial matter. I'm sure people stuck around simply to see if the new cards could change whatever the player numbers were fostered.
Agree. I do think there's an element of this devs tricking themselves into thinking their"systems" and articles are at least kind of pleasure. They certainly"overdesign", beginning with the benefits and working backward from there instead of really thinking if the systems themselves are enjoyable.
But in BFA, everyone knew Azerite armor was trash in beta and blizzard said dont worry we have fixes in store. In Beta shamans were terrible and had several bugs and issues which weren't addressed. The initial tier comes around and instead of these fixing shamans they state the first patch Shamans will be fixed. They somehow made bug fixing shamans a content feature in the first significant patch in an effort to keep people subscribed or bring them back into the match.
I have and never will understand why they keep shooting themselves in the foot like that. Wouldn't expanding upon a system instead of scrapping it and doing anything else be better for them? They would spare time not having to plan a completely different system, and the majority of the time that the cheap WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold system they're actually already using, they have just spent a year fixing. Why go through this cycle again instead of using the fixed system.
