Justin Jefferson took the NFL by storm during his rookie season. The Minnesota Vikings' star set records for Madden 22 coins the franchise, introduced to the world "The Griddy" and also established the Super Bowl rookie record for the most receiving yards. But for his success there's a reason he hasn't been given the recognition that he is due. The latest niggle came on Monday when EA Sports released their top 10 wide receivers in Madden NFL 22. Jefferson is, despite being one of the most prominent players listed, didn't receive an overall rating lower than 90.

Davante is Davante's only receiver to have a rating of 99 overall. Jefferson was second in yards per route during the season. It's clear that Jefferson had a higher overall YPRR that any of the nine receivers, and only Stefon Diggs and DeAndre ' Hopkins had higher receiving yards.

Why couldn't Jefferson make it to the top? It could have something to do with something other than statistics. The top 10 has one who's a media love. However, Kirk Cousins can be a capable real-world quarterback, it's not the star power of Aaron Rodgers and Kyler Murray.

Cousins isn't likely to win a popularity contest with Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, Tom Brady, Dak Prescott, Dak Tom Brady. Even the names on the list who don't have elite quarterbacks are either future Hall of Famers (Julio Jones) or cheap Mut 22 coins have a more extensive record (Allen Robinson).
