The only other mentions in the mainstream media of Runescape tend to be in news reports where the slant is definitely negative (theres been a handful of scammer/pedophile cases over the years) which may bring attention RS Gold, but not usually in the manner desired.

The SORWT SOF is an attempt to ensure that cash flows are maintained from a community which is reducing with people growing up & cutting down on play, and with fewer new players coming in every year while not addressing the issues I mentioned in the previous paragraph. This is a minimal cost way to fix a problem however it is creating more. I'm not a CFO and don't have access to the financials however the frequent tweaks suggest that it is not working as intended.

There are many problems with it, from the rule changes they made so obviously to make it salable (RWT! which most object to) to the way it really bears little relevance to the game generally ( tacked on content was an everyday description) however it is something that a lot of us have got used to & use on a regular basis (at the very least, the free dailies & skilling/killing drops) & would probably cause the rants to rise once more if it were to be eliminated completely.

A real-world marketing budget would solve the issues I mentioned. It could also (hopefully) draw in a new group of players, return previous players and let them be able to see "that's what it's like today OSRS Fire Cape Buy." could resolve the guaranteed monthly cash flow issues. Print, television and games store advertisements worldwide wont be cheap though.
