The tournament, which will feature two divisions, an Xbox and PlayStation division, will be held online over the weekends of November 7 and 11. 14-15. A final round - the Elite 8 for each division - will take place during the weekend of November 21-22. This will be streamed live on TGS' Twitch channel NBA 2K22 MT. TGS will host the tournament and provide professional tournament management and production.

In addition to the awards and other benefits, a portion of money raised by the event will benefit three non-profit organizations, including Cxmmunity, which focuses on increasing the participation of minorities sports; the Beyond Sports foundation, dedicated to transforming athletic skills into real-world opportunities; and That Harper Kid, the foundation created by former Chicago Sky guard Linnae Harper to support local youth.

Numerous Chicago area high school basketball legends have also contributed their backing to the effort which includes Jahil Okafor, Kendrick Nunn, Quentin Richardson, Darius Miles, Tim Hardaway, Deon Thomas, Hoop Dreams stars Arthur Agee and William Gates and Chicago high school legend Linnae Harper.
