While both zones are completely distinct in their aesthetics and storylines, the leveling experience earned in WOTLK Gold each zone is fairly similar so your character won't be at a disadvantage when they choose one zone over the other.

Why go to Howling Fjord? Howling Fjord?

Howling Fjord is a peninsula situated on the southeastern part of Northrend. In this area, players will meet diverse new races like The Vrykul along with the Taunka. A large portion of the storyline of the zone is focused on the indigenous inhabitants of the region, particularly the Vrykul and their violent response to the arrival of their neighbors, the Alliance as well as the Horde.

Howling Fjord is a zone where the majority of the land is covered by mountains, ridged forests and cliffs with snowy tops in its northernmost parts. In addition, the introduction sequence is a slow boat journey up toward Daggercap Bay, which plays the role of the burning Vrykul ship that is sandwiched between two mountains, making for some of the best recognizable and historic cinematic sequences in all of WoW. Those first few moments in the area are worth the journey alone.

Why should we go to Borean Tundra?

Borean Tundra is located on the southwestern part of Northrend Its story revolves around the battle in the region between Alliance as well as the Horde. The two factions hold strongholds in the tundra, Valiance Keep and Warsong Hold located in walking distance to each other. In this area you'll find vast landscapes such as the Scourge-infested wastes of the south, and the resource-stripped Geyser Fields up north.

Making a decision
