I like New Horizons, but the issue that a lot of players have with is the ongoing issue that the animal personalities are a lot more dull than the older games. If you watch footage from the Gamecube version, you'll see that animals were a lot more"hot" with regard to how they spoke to you. Oftentimes, they were really quite impolite - alerting you if you refused to help them/do something for them. Now, this was down when Wild World was released, but animals weren't overly friendly as Animal Crossing Bells they're in New Leaf/New Horizons.

I believe the island development resources in New Horizons are great, but my main reason for enjoying the game is to befriend my animals. There's no obstacle to it since everyone is actually friendly off-the-bat, even the personalities like cranky/snooty (where they are intended to be stand-offish with you at first).

They have also apparently removed a feature where creatures would visit your home at a specific time. It was a wonderful method for players who don't have the capacity to go online to get visitors look at their property. There was also a consequence to not turning up on time: it would make the animal upset and your friendship could have a small hit.

I actually enjoy the tagging system, however I know that some folks really don't like it. I think that the biggest complaint I have seen is that golden tools have dropped their prestige because they are no longer unbreakable like from the previous games. That's pretty much what made them unique, so it sounds a bit pointless to craft them, given that golden nuggets are a milder resource.

I think a good deal of dislike together with the crafting system is not the crafting itself but more like the shortage of QOL stuff within it.

Or got tired of the towns. AC is usually supposed to buy Animal Crossing Items be of a bit by bit thing but the pandemic caused it to be a binge experience.Another matter is that a lot of the updates this year have been focused on attaining feature parity with all the previous match, New Leaf.
