With many major video game releases planned for 2023, June 2023 already has plenty of high-profile titles. Barring any release date delays, 2023 should be a big year for the gaming industry, with highly anticipated titles like Hogwarts Legacy and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, among others. Still, when looking ahead to the most important months of 2023, one month stands out in particular.

At the time of writing, the second half of 2023 isn't really in shape yet. Most of the 2023 game release dates announced so far have been in the first few months of the year, but we do know some games will be released in May and June. The conversation in May will undoubtedly be dominated by the Nintendo Switch exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Tear of Kingdom when it launches on May 12, but June has even more competition.

June 2023 Video Game Releases

Street Fighter 6 - June 2 Diablo 4 - June 6 Final Fantasy 16 - June 22 June was dominated by new entries in big, established game franchises, including some of the oldest and most beloved franchises in the history of the industry. It all started with the highly-anticipated fighting game Street Fighter VI, scheduled for release on June 2. Street Fighter VI is pushing the franchise's story forward with a sleek new art style, while also seeking to avoid the mistakes of its predecessor.

In less than a week, gamers can look forward to the release of Diablo 4, the latest entry in Blizzard's beloved hack-and-slash action RPG franchise. All three of the main Diablo series games released to date have garnered critical acclaim and are often cited as one of the best video games of all time, so expectations for Diablo 4 are high.
