We didn't succeed in convincing our fans that we're not abandoning PC to consoles or mobiles

I think the thing that we did a poor job with when WOTLK Gold we announced World of Warcraft : Immortal was contextualizing what we think the future might hold and how we view mobile in particular. Also, I think that the main thing that was missed and that we made a terrible job of insisting on, is that the fact that we are a PC game developer first. Then, we seek out other platforms we believe are amazing and that are able to support games that provide experiences that resonate with the kind of games and values we wish to share with the world. The example is, there was a little some backlash after we announced the plans to translate World of Warcraft to console also.

The game was ported to our Xbox and PlayStation platforms. The year before, we announced World of Warcraft for the Nintendo Switch. The reason why we did this is because we believe this is an amazing game that will work extremely well on those platforms.

If we think about what the future of mobile gaming will hold used by Blizzard in the future We think that mobile should not offer a lower quality experience. We believe we can create games that are Blizzard quality. We believe that we could achieve Blizzard values in monetization, and we think it can be an enjoyable experience. And World of Warcraft : Immortal is a game that has been in development for quite a few years up to now and we're thrilled with how the game is progressing. We're excited to let players experience it as soon as it's time to release it.

However, the first thing to remember is that I think that one thing that was not communicated, and I'm not able to say it enough about it, is that we are a PC developer, but we also look into opportunities for other operating systems.

You'd like to highlight the fact that you're a PC first kind of developer , company and publisher. Do you know the resistance from your fans? when they're like "Yeah it's an mobile device, and that's not who you are."In retrospect, we took a candid look at ourselves, post-BlizzCon in order to analyze the reaction of fans. It's our job to comprehend the root of the reason for that reaction.

We didn't succeed in convincing our fans that we're not abandoning PC to consoles or mobiles. This part of the buy WOW WOTLK Classic Gold message wasn't communicated in a way that I think, if we could return, we'd choose to like to.It's not hard to understand the reaction of the fans "I'm a Blizzard fan. Blizzard, just keep making PC games like you've always done. Much like the ones I love. This makes me smile."
